ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) — Prosecutors in Montgomery County have dropped charges against a man arrested in connection with a pipe bomb that exploded outside a Potomac house.

The State’s Attorney’s office said Tuesday it was dropping the case against Farzin Sadeghi pending additional forensics tests. Sadeghi was arrested in April, one month after a device left outside a Potomac house exploded and damaged a front window and room.

No one was home at the time.

Seth Zucker, a spokesman for the State’s Attorney’s office, says prosecutors are awaiting forensics tests and will have the option of re-filing the case.

Sadeghi’s attorney, Robert Bonsib, said in an e-mail that his client had “lived under this cloud for three months” and hopes that prosecutors will officially close the matter after completing their investigation.
